Discovering Qi (Energy)

The night I discovered the Energy of Plants changed my life.  It was late at night as I was laying on my living room floor deep in thought about Something - the kind of Something you just think about when you're young.  I happened to look  up through the leaves of the plant I was under, and I saw the strangest thing.

There seemed to be a distortion in all of the air surrounding the leaves. I stared at it for a while and it didn't go away, so eventually I stuck my hand out and touched it.  And it responded.

My hands could move it and draw it in and out, kind of like a magnet.  I could feel it, although subtle, and it felt amazing.  I was aware of a connection to the plant, as if it was teaching me beautiful music but in a visual way.

I played with the plant Qi for literally 4 hours, lost in complete fascination.  I didn't know what it was, or why I had never noticed it before, but I knew it was something I intensely wanted in my life.  I remember thinking "Whatever this is, if there's a job in this, THAT'S what I want to do!"

And here I am 30 some years later, and the energy has guided my entire career path, whether I was aware of it at the time or not.
One thing I've come to understand is that in some ways it doesn't matter what you call it, there are many names:  Hands of Light, Reiki, Healing Touch, Therapeutic Touch, Quantum Healing, Medical QiGong...  They each have their own language and culture, yet the root is the same.

I connect very strongly with Medical QiGong, which has its foundation in Taoist philosophy and Chinese medicine.  Most of what I write about, teach, and use in my professional healing practice is influenced by this.

I'm excited to let the energy flow through this Blog and see where it leads us.  I'd also love to read your first experience with Energy if you care to share in the comments.

Wishing you unimaginable peace,
Cynthia

PODCAST: Feeling the 'Qi' in QiGong

Becoming An Energy Healer

When we start to study Energy Healing our life changes. Dramatically.  We have to expand our consciousness and our comfort level beyond the physical.  This means we have to learn how to see things differently, feel things in very subtle ways, hear whispers of guidance, and transcend our emotions.  At least this happens over a period of time, however it's not just an easy and uneventful transition. Living in the world of Energy is becoming acutely aware that everything exists first as Energy which then becomes Matter.  There are no exceptions. If you let this sink in, Energy Healing is consciously creating a state within the energy field that has the potential to affect the next physical moment in a beneficial way.  We do this through cultivating our hearts, focused intention, and learning to work with the Qi. When someone comes to one of my Medical QiGong classes for the first time and says they are interested in learning Energy Healing, I know where ...

From Darkness To Light

A few nights ago I watched a very disturbing documentary, "Out of the Shadows". The only reason I watched it was because another LightWorker recommended it - someone who, like me, does not promote fear-based ideas. At first I was shocked, however I also felt like there was a reason I saw it.  Every time I thought about it I made myself think of something else more positive, tried to shake it from my mind. Last night I had a dream. In it, I realized that I was made of Light.  I held out my arms and saw the most incredible light pouring out of me, streaming from my heart center, and I said "I AM LIGHT". I felt it so intensely that I said it again "I AM LIGHT", and it made me so happy I was laughing.  Then the dream shifted and I was looking at the 'bad people' from the documentary.  I held open my arms and let the light pour out and I said "I AM LIGHT!!" and I just let it wash over them all. While the light was streaming I knew ...
